On Feb. 18, Whitney Houston’s homegoing took place at New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, NJ. The ceremony was classy, heartfelt, and touching, but there was a small amount of controversy because Houston’s ex-husband Bobby Brown left the early. Rumors began to circulate that he was asked to leave and also that he stormed out over a seating arrangement.

Minutes later, Brown released a statement saying that he was asked to move multiple times and out of respect he got up and left after kissing Houston’s casket. See his statement below:

My children and I were invited to the funeral of my ex-wife Whitney Houston. We were seated by security and then subsequently asked to move on three separate occasions.

I fail to understand why security treated my family this way and continue to ask us and no one else to move. Security then prevented me from attempting to see my daughter Bobbi-Kristina. In light of the events, I gave a kiss to the casket of my ex-wife and departed as I refused to create a scene.

Now to end all speculation, Whitney Houston’s attorney has come forward to set the record straight.

Songwriter Ester Dean was behind the scenes for most of her career. She has written songs for superstars such as Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown, Rihanna, Katy Perry, Beyonce & more. Now she’s ready to come to the forefront. Ester Dean teamed up with Nicki for the new song titled “Gimmie Money.” Ester’s debut album will be out soon on Interscope Records.

The song is reminiscent of Ester’s past productions such as “What’s Your Name” by Rihanna, and “Lose Control” by Keri Hilson. It’s a catchy song and will be a staple on urban radio. Nicki always delivers on her features, but somehow her solo songs aren’t up to par.

The UK’s biggest night in music is here with the Brit Awards airing NOW. We will have shots from the red carpet and of course performances and winners as they become available.

Need a refresher on the nominees? Singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran scored the most nominations with four, while Adele and Jessie J are each nominated for three. Rihanna, Beyonce and Lady Gaga are all nominated once in the same category for ‘International Female Solo Act.’ Other notable acts with nominations include Bruno Mars (1), Coldplay (2), Florence + the Machine (2), Jay-Z and Kanye West (1).

Last night the fourth season the Basketball Wives: Miami premiered on VH1 and cast member Jennifer Williams and Evelyn Lozada’s friendship was at the center of drama the entire show. This morning, Williams stopped by the always entertaining Power 105 radio show The Breakfast Club to be grilled by Charlamagne, DJ Envy and Angela Yee on topics related to the show and her personal life.

Zac Efron and Taylor Swift performed a duet on ‘Ellen’ earlier today. Watch as the pair sing a slightly altered version of Foster The People’s “Pumped Up Kicks” while playing guitar. The lyrics were rearranged just for Ellen and the end results is hilarious.

Mariah Carey stopped by ‘Good Morning America’ this morning to discuss her partnership with the ‘American Heart Association’ and Jenny Craig. The mother of twins also talked about Whitney Houston’s death, “dem babies,” and more. Carey also debuted her new P.S.A for the ‘American Heart Association.’

Before the untimely passing of legendary diva Whitney Houston, the pop ICON was seen jamming out to fellow ICON Madonna’s halftime show. TMZ was able to obtain footage of Nippy (Houston) dancing around at a bar inside the Regent Beverly Wilshire on Feb 5th. According to sources Houston did not have any drinks that night and enjoyed the game amongst family and friends.

MTV’s annual hottest MC list was released and we have the choices here. The criteria is based off of impact, lyrical ability, buzz and commercial success. Rick Ross topped the list, while hip-hop heavy weights Jay-Z placed at #6 and Kanye West placed at #3, respectively. Young Money rappers Drake (2), Nicki Minaj (4) and Lil Wayne (5) also placed within the top 5.

Kelly Rowland payed tribute to boxing legend Muhammad Ali by performing a rendition of  Whitney “The Voice” Houston’s “Greatest Love Of All.” Kelly performed the song of the late icon during the ’Keep Memory Alive’ party last night. She was accompanied by the legendary Stevie Wonder who played the piano & harmonica.

Kelly actually sounded very good. I’ve noticed that recently she has sounded much better than before. Her tribute performance to Mariah Carey on the BET Honors was a great vocal also. Hopefully this trend of on point vocals continues.

Everyone’s favorite blue-eyed soul artist, Robin Thicke has covered Whitney Houston’s last number one single on the Billboard Hot 100, “Exhale (Shoop Shoop)” from the classic 1995 soundtrack to the equally classic film,Waiting To Exhale starring Whitney Houston, Angela Bassett, Loretta Devine,and Lela Rochon. The cover is nothing short of flawless and is beautiful tribute to the incomparable Nippy. The vocals are raw and vulnerable, perfection. I wish he had went into bridge, but I’ m more than pleased with what was served. This needs to be on his next album, seriously.

Check out the unstoppable duo LMFAO as they perform their hits “Party Rock Anthem” and “Sexy And I Know It” on The Jonathan Ross Show. Both songs topped the Hot 100 and sold a combine total of over 13 million copies digitally worldwide. Insane!
