Beyoncé Accused Of Stealing…Again
Oct 2011 10

Belgian choreographer Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker has accused mother-to-be Miss Beyoncé Knowles of plagiarizing her dance moves in the singer’s new video “Countdown”. Adria Petty, who directed the “Countdown” video recently said right before the new video had premiered that it was inspired by a German choreographer, but never revealed exactly who.

Anne recently spoke to Belgian radio station Studio Brussel about about the situation and had this to say.

“I didn’t know anything about this. I’m not mad, but this is plagiarism.  This is stealing. They took pieces from Achterland and Rosas danst Rosas. … It’s a bit rude, I must say.”

“What’s rude about it is that they don’t even bother about hiding it. They seem to think they could do it because it’s a famous work. … Am I honored? Look, I’ve seen local school kids doing this. That’s a lot more beautiful.”

Check out a side by side comparison of “Countdown”, and Anne’s piece and decide for yourself whether she’s stolen or not.

Bey, or anyone in relation to her/her camp haven’t spoken about the controversy yet, and probably won’t. Personally, I do think Theifoncé Beyoncé does get “inspired” a lot by other pieces, but in a way she always makes it her own, and most of the time makes it better so these people should hush and stop complaining.
