After President Obama’s historical announcement that he is for same-sex marriage, a number of celebrities have also joined his position and come out in support of gay marriage including, Jay-Z, Floyd Mayweather, and most recently, T.I.
In an interview with MTV Rap Fix on Wednesday night (May 16), T.I. said, “Just to speak honestly and being frank, I don’t care. I think that if a matter doesn’t affect your daily life, you shouldn’t take a hard stand on it.”
The “Rubber Band Man” rapper continues, “If it’s not something that directly affects you, if it doesn’t affect you, what difference does it make to you what other people are doing with their lives?”

President Obama made a bold move by declaring his support for gay marriage, and it seems as though hip-hop is coming forward to make a change.
Hip-Hop legend, Lil Kim pulled a brave move by stopping by the most slanderous radio show in the country, The Breakfast Club. The queen bee discussed a variety of topics including her beef with Nicki Minaj, Azealia Banks, recording new music, plastic surgery and more. Listen below.

Instead of doing the predictable “Right Thru Me” storyline, Nicki couples up with Mr. Illmatic himself, the rap legend Nas. The song peaked at #51 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and it’s not blowing up on Urban Radio like expected. Chris Brown’s next album Fortune will finally be in stores this July. Is it too little too late? Watch the new video below.
T.I. is back with another new one off his upcoming album, Trouble Man. While the lead single, ‘Love This Life‘ was more radio friendly, ‘Like That’ was created strictly for the streets. T.I. is having a tough time finding his bearing after so many stints in jail, but hopefully this one will find success.
T.I. also revealed to Angie Martinez on Tuesday, May 15, that Trouble Man will hit stores on Sept 4th and that the second season of A Family Hustle will premiere on Sept 3rd. Coincidence. NOPE.

In perhaps one of the most interesting moves done for an album, Max B recorded all of his verses through the phone at the prison he’s incarcerated in. The low quality prison phone recordings along with Toothtaker’s mixed vocals adds a unique blend to the tape. Download and listen to the six-song tape for free.

“What people do in their own homes is their business. You can choose to love whoever you love. It’s no different than discriminating against blacks. It’s discrimination plain and simple.”
Just last week, President Obama announced his support of gay marriage and many have said that it will cost him votes this November. Jay-Z chimed in saying, “I think it’s the right thing to do, so whether it costs him votes or not… Again, it’s not about votes, it’s about people.”

The 2012 Billboard Music Awards just got that much more exciting with the announcement that pop/ R&B star, Chris Brown will be hitting the stage. The Grammy winner is nominated for four awards including: Top Male Artist, Top R&B Artist, Top R&B Album (F.A.M.E) and Top R&B Song (‘She Ain’t You’).
Brown recently released his new pop single, ‘Don’t Wake Me Up,’ and so this would be a great chance for him to introduce the song to the world, and maybe also do a small portion of ‘Sweet Love’ or ‘Till I Die.’ Fortune hits stores on July 3rd.
Usher, Justin Bieber, Nelly Furtado, The Wanted, Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, Linkin Park, LMFAO and more will also be performing at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas next Sunday.
This is an amazing line up and I’m curious to find out if Usher, Bieber or Brown will have the show-stopping performance. My bet is on Usher.
On thing that I noticed is that there are no hip-hop performers. I’d love for Kanye and Jay-Z to be added, or even Drake, Rick Ross, and Nicki Minaj. There will also be a special tribute to the LEGENDARY and ICONIC, Whitney Houston, who amassed 30 Billboard awards over her career.
Leading all nominees is Adele with 18, followed closely by LMFAO with 17. Rihanna (13), Lil Wayne and Lady Gaga (10), and Katy Perry (9) also scored multiple nominations. For a full list of finalists, visit here.
The Billboard Awards airs May 20th, at 8pm (et) on ABC. We will be live tweeting @popaddicts_
