Mariah Carey stopped by Good Morning America earlier today and was asked her thoughts on the death of her close friend Whitney Houston. When speaking to Robin Roberts, Carey said, “I’m almost incapable of talking about this still. It’s very heavy emotionally.

The pair collaborated on the 1998′s Oscar winning classic “When You Believe,” and Carey remembered working with Houston saying, “It was great and I don’t think people could ever understand our relationship … there was always this supposed rivalry in the beginning and then we did the duet and we became friends.”

Carey was one of the celebrities in attendance at Houston’s funeral this past Saturday at New Hope Baptist Church and reflects on the homegoing service commenting, “It was gorgeous. The way she went out and the way family dealt with it, I was very moved.”

“I loved her. We all loved her. May she rest in peace … her legend’s gonna go on forever.”

Carey also discussed her husband Nick Cannon, her partnership with the American Heart Association, Jenny Craig, #dembabies and more. Watch below.
